Our Commitment to Training
Our commitment to the very highest standards of patient care affords us the privilege of registration as a training practice for medical students and GP Registrars.
Medical Students are usually with us for a two week placement. They are usually in their 4th year studying medicine at Bristol University and when they come to us they usually sit with the doctors during consultations to gain an understanding of General Practice.
F2 doctors have as part of their 2 years Foundation Training in hospitals a four month placement with the Practice to gain experience of seeing patients in the General Practice setting. They see patients independently, but have access to the GP Trainer in the Practice at all times.
GP Registrars are fully qualified doctors undertaking a six month or one year placement with us to gain experience of General Practice. They are undergoing their training on the Bristol GP training Scheme further information can also be found on the Severn Deanery GP Training website.
As part of the training programme you may occasionally be seen at a joint surgery with two doctors or your consultation with the doctor may be recorded on video. Your prior permission for this will always be sought and we fully understand if you do not wish to give your consent.
